Due to the resignation of Board Member Elizabeth Miller, the Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education has a vacancy in District No. 4. The Board is required to fill this position by April 23, 2026. The individual appointed will serve the remainder of the term through December 31, 2027.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
Be a registered voter;
Be at least 18 years of age; and
Physically reside within District No. 4
In addition to these legal qualifications, an appointed member of the Board of Education must be willing to:
Attend regular and special Board meetings as scheduled;
Participate in additional meetings, including executive sessions, work sessions, briefings, and other meetings as needed;
Serve on committees, such as finance, and audit;
Complete required Board training; and
Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as circumstances may require.
Individuals who are registered voters in New Mexico, reside within District No. 4, and are interested in serving on the Board of Education should submit:
A letter of interest;
A summary of relevant experience and qualifications; and
A copy of a current voter information card.
